SPECIAL BATCH - Biscotti Amarena are a biscotti variation that originates from the vibrant city of Naples in Italy. Made with an outer part of shortbread, the inside with a complex filling and topped with some pistachio nuts.
What sets Biscotti Amarena apart is the use of Amarena cherries, which are a variety of cherries grown primarily in Italy. These, together with sponge bread, cocoa, almonds and more, are the perfect ingredients for adding depth and complexity to the biscotti.
The Biscotti Amarena typically features a slightly crunchy texture, more like shortbread, with a subtle chewiness from the filling, creating a wonderful contrast that delights the palate.
In Napoli, Biscotti Amarena are often enjoyed with a cup of espresso or a shot of traditional Neapolitan coffee.
